This module is part of the Region VII Radiation Response Team Training (Enduring Material Module Series).

The Session 3 module will discuss situational awareness, data collection, and information sharing important throughout radiation emergency response. Various sources of information and data will be reviewed along with tools and resources commonly used for storing and sharing this data.

Upon completion of this enduring material module, participants should be better able to:

Analyze types of information available early in each incident type.
Discuss how initial assumptions can be applied and shared for a common operational picture.
Summarize available modeling assets.
Provide an overview of default models provided early in response and how additional data products can be requested and used.
Discuss radiation-specific tools and resources available from local, state, and federal assets to gather data and share model and data products.
Describe the importance of situational awareness across all aspects of the response and a common operating picture as information is gathered and recommendations change over the timeline of an incident.
Compare how priorities for data and information differ between the various radiation incidents.
