5th Annual Scary Cases Conference
The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is hosting our 5th Annual Scary Cases Conference! This case-based conference will review real-life unique and rare cases in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, and oral surgery.
Conference Objectives
At the conclusion of this conference, the participant should be better able to:
- Demonstrate how to detect otolaryngologic conditions that can easily be missed in a routine exam.
- Identify potential pitfalls inherent to the practice of otolaryngology that may lead to adverse outcomes or put patients at risk.
- Discuss legal principles of medical malpractice and identify ways to minimize the risk of malpractice in the everyday practice of otolaryngology.
- Recognize the role of each of our collaborating departments in treating patients with head and neck pathologies.
- Apply lessons learned from the management of particularly tough cases to clinical practice.

We invite participants to submit the scariest of cases to be presented and discussed in an open, collaborative forum during the conference.
