This site is intended for registered participants of the 2022 Midwest Radiation Oncology Symposium held on Aug. 20, via Zoom.

Welcome! Thank you for joining us.

The 2022 Midwest Radiation Oncology Symposium will provide all members of the interdisciplinary oncology team with education and training on recent advances in radiation oncology, physics, and biology. Topics will include the role of emerging technologies in radiation therapy, multidisciplinary cancer care, and up-to-date information for referring physicians seeking to transfer their patients to the oncology team.

At the conclusion of this symposium the participant should be better able to:

Discuss advances in the management of breast, gynecologic, lung, and pediatric brain cancers.
Describe current knowledge regarding the physics, indications, and ongoing clinical trials for proton therapy.
Explain current knowledge regarding the physics and unique characteristics of radiobiology in the setting of FLASH radiotherapy.
Describe the mechanism of low-dose radiation therapy-induced immunomodulatory effects in dampening cytokine production in treated tissues.
Identify the roles and responsibilities within the radiation oncology team and how recent technological advancements impact these roles in cancer care.
