Module Description
We reinforce learning and practice through practical application. This module takes a deep dive into a diverse array of clinical cases from within the U.S. and around the world managed by faculty. Faculty highlights technical and contextual case management aspects in tropical medicine.
Method of Participation
- Review the entire activity.
- Successfully complete the post-test with 100% accuracy.
- Complete the evaluation.
This activity will take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete.
Module Information
Upon completion of this module, participants should be better able to:
- Employ clinical syndrome and contextual circumstances to identify patient risks.
- Employ clinical syndrome and contextual circumstances to design an initial case management approach.
- Describe epidemiologic and case management aspects of tropical medicine threats to patient and community health.
- Integrate approaches to medical care delivery and health team functioning in the tropical environment to inform treatment decisions that respect patient and community values.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for 1.75 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should only claim credit for the actual time spent participating in the activity.
Maintenance of Certification (MOC)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to:
- 1.75 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program;
- 1.75 MOC points in the American Board of Pathology's (ABPATH) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program; and
- 1.75 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.
It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM, ABPATH, or ABP MOC credit.
