Precision prevention and population health

This actively developing program focuses on identifying and understanding the factors influencing cancer risks, with a special emphasis on disparities and rural populations in the catchment area. Discover methods for early detection, develop and implement cancer prevention interventions and improve the quality of life for cancer survivors through research in survivorship and symptom management.

Program Aims  

  1. Identify and understand the biological, environmental, behavioral, and social drivers that impact cancer risks with emphasis on disparities and rural/frontier populations. 
  2. Discover novel screening methods for early cancer detection and develop and implement interventions to modulate and prevent cancer. 
  3. Improve function and health-related quality of life of cancer survivors through research in survivorship and symptom management.
