Shared Decision-Making for Mobile Apps

Module 1: Mobile App Technology

This module will discuss the background, terminology and significance of mobile app technology in integrated primary care settings.

Module 2: Mobile Apps in Clinical Care

This module will describe patient and provider findings relevant to mobile app selection and discuss whether a one-size-fits-all approach works for patients.

Module 3: Patient Engagement and Self-Management

This module will teach you how to recognize strategies for mobile engagement, how to support self-management and to describe how apps can be used for self-management.

Module 4: Patient Activation

This module will help you determine what else matters for promoting self-management in the integrated environment, describe what patient activation is and the four levels of patient activation, and understand how the patient activation level can be used for promoting mobile app use for integrated primary care patients.

Module 5: Health Literacy

This module will teach you to define health literacy and e-health literacy and describe how apps can improve e-health literacy.
