iOS (Apple) Phones

In Module 1 parts 1 and 2, you will find resources to help you develop skills to use your Apple iPhone. You will also learn about features that are common in a variety of smartphones has that you can use as tools to support your daily activities.

Basic Smartphone Skills

WiFi and Data
You will learn what Wi-Fi and mobile data are, how to connect to a Wi-Fi network and how to turn Wi-Fi on and off.
How to Download Apps
You will learn how to download apps on an iPhone device, what the Apple store is, and how to open an app after downloading it.
Internet Browsing
You will learn how to perform an internet search, how to go to a specific website and how to view and delete your web browser history.
Notes and Reminders
You will learn how to write, edit and save a note on an iPhone device and how to set a reminder.
Clock App
You will learn how to set an alarm, how to set a timer and how to adjust and delete alarms and timers.
Calendar App
You will learn how to create a new event in the calendar app, how to create an alert and how to edit and customize events and alerts.

Advanced Smartphone Skills

Watching Videos
You will learn the potential therapeutic benefits of watching videos and how to search for and watch a video on YouTube.
Finding Mindfulness Exercises
You will learn how to search for mindfulness exercises using a web browser.
Researching Accurate Information
You will learn how to search for health information online and how to know which online sources are trustworthy.
Notes for Mental Health
You will learn the value of notes for mental health and recall how to write notes and create reminders using the Keep Notes app.
Creating a Routine
You will learn how the clock app can be used to create healthy routines and how to employ the clock app for scheduling.
Setting a Schedule
You will learn the utility of the calendar app and how to implement a schedule using the calendar app.

Technology Skills

Complications Downloading an App
You will know how to ensure a smartphone is connected to Wi-Fi in order to successfully download an app and how to clear storage space to make room for a new app.
Unknown Acct ID or Password
You will know how to create a new password for your Apple account.
Lack of Storage Space
You will learn how to view an app’s download size from its description on the App Store, check if your smartphone has enough space for a new app, and pursue alternatives if your phone has insufficient space for a new app.
