BHECN and Community Alliance will partner in the development of a model behavioral health interprofessional community-based education and training site. The mission of this collaboration is to create an exportable model of community-based behavioral health training to support interprofessional, practice-based learning for the state.
Consumers and families living with mental and behavioral problems touch one in five families in Nebraska and across our nation. These issues, frequently involving behavioral health and substance abuse problems, cut across traditional treatment specialties, individual expertise, agencies and fragmented program boundaries. They require a transformed, consumer-focused approach to treatment.
Community Alliance serves as a leader in behavioral health in Nebraska and has already established collaborative education and training within their agency. BHECN support will allow this model to be enhanced and exported to other agencies in the state.
