May Lifelong Learning Fund awards addressing key workforce issues

cordts-kati.jpgBHECN awarded nearly $24,000 during its May application cycle for the Lifelong Learning Fund (LLF) – which supports student development opportunities, professional development opportunities and student-focused career engagement activities.

In total, 18 applicants received funding during the May cycle. The awardee pool was composed of 11 students and seven licensed behavioral health professionals.

The LLF can quickly impact Nebraska’s behavioral health current and future workforce, and create opportunities for specialized training that individuals may not otherwise have the means to attend, said Kati Cordts, PhD, (pictured) who, as BHECN’s Associate Director of Training and Education, oversees the LLF.

“The Lifelong Learning Fund is a powerful tool that helps us provide vital support to Nebraska’s behavioral health workforce in ways that can have rapid and profound impact on students, providers, and the clients they serve,” Dr. Cordts said.

Applications for the Lifelong Learning Fund are accepted three times a year. The next application cycle opens in September.
