Kearney, Neb., is the owner of Click Family Healthcare, a direct primary clinic with clinics in Kearney and Broken Bow. He was recently named the 2024 UNMC Family Medicine Alumnus of the Year.

Omaha, Neb., was appointed chief nursing officer for Nebraska Medicine in March 2024. She previously served as vice president of operations for the Bellevue Medical Center.

Gretna, Neb., was appointed assistant dean for academic affairs in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions, as of February 2024. She serves as the primary conduct officer for the college and chairs the curriculum committee. She serves as co-chair of the UNMC Education Council and AI Enhance Learning Subcommittee. She continues to direct the college’s office of academic affairs. She is a professor in the radiography program and chair of the Health Professions Teaching and Technology and Healthcare Delivery Science Programs in Graduate Studies. She joined UNMC in 2001 and was director of the combined Radiography, Computed Tomography, and Cardiovascular Interventional Technology Programs for eight years before her assistant dean appointment 

Ann Anderson Berry, Pediatrics ‘01, GS’14
Omaha, Neb., received an Outstanding Faculty Mentor of Graduate Students Award from UNMC in March 2024. In August 2024, she was recognized by the Nebraska Medical Association as a Physician Advocate of the Year. She serves as chief and professor of the division of neonatology and as the vice chair of research in the department of pediatrics. She is the executive director of the Child Health Research Institute and serves as the Great Plains IDeA-CTR Institutional Coordinator for Children’s Nebraska.

Crete, Neb., joined the Crete Area Medical Center in May 2024, as a nurse practitioner specializing in family practice.

Alexandria, La., works at Premier Urgent Care in Alexandria and the surrounding areas.

Chicago, Ill., received the 2024 Distinguished Senior Career Award by the American Society of Transplantation.  

Kyle Skiermont P’01   
Omaha, Neb., was promoted to senior vice president of operations for Nebraska Medicine in March 2024. In addition to leading the Genetic Insights Project, this expanded role will allow him to continue leading pharmacy and cancer and will take on leadership responsibilities for ambulatory, diagnostic, and procedural services.

Burleson, Texas, recently started a new position as a physical therapist at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. 

Richard Williamson MS’01, Prosthodontics ‘01
Lincoln, Neb., was named director of global student experiences at the UNMC College of Dentistry in the fall of 2024. He is also an associate professor in the UNMC Department of Adult Restorative Dentistry. He will be the primary contact for international outreach programs in this new role. He will collaborate with UNMC on existing interdisciplinary outreach initiatives and work to develop additional program sites. He joined the college in 2021 after 17 years in private practice and 20 years as a faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Memphis, Tenn., was promoted to associate professor in the College of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. His specialty is cardiology.

Erie, Penn., was named dean of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences at Gannon University in January 2024, after serving in an interim capacity since July.   

Allison Cushman-Vokoun GS’02, M’04, Pathology ‘08
Omaha, Neb., a professor in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology, was named the UNMC Varner Educator Laureate for 2023-2024.

Scottsbluff, Neb., was recognized in May 2023 from her undergraduate alma mater, Idaho State University, with a Professional Achievement Award from the College of Health.    

Kaiti George MN’03 
Kearney, Neb., received the Nebraska Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics top honor as the 2024 Outstanding Dietitian of the Year. She is a registered dietitian at HyVee and oversees pre-dietetic students and nutrition minors in the Kinesiology and Sport Science Department at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. This fall, she will begin as an instructor at UNMC’s Kearney campus.

Omaha, Neb., has two daughters; Carly and Lauren, ages 13 and 10.

Kearney, Neb., received the 2024 Physician of the Year Award from the Nebraska Academy of PAs. 

Geoffrey Talmon M’03, Pathology ‘07
Waterloo, Neb., is a member of UNMC’s Interprofessional Academy of Educators and in the fall of 2024, received a Distinguished Educator Award. He serves as the associate dean for medical education and professor in the College of Medicine and as vice chair for medical education in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology.

Sara Bills PT’04   
Lincoln, Neb., recently completed the Wound Treatment Associate Program offered through the UNMC College of Nursing’s Continuing interProfessional Development and Innovation Office. She is looking forward to integrating the new concepts, teaching methodologies, and valuable resources into her own practice and with the students she teaches in UNMC’s Physical Therapy Program.    

Amber Donnelly PH’04, GS’08   
Elkhorn, Neb., was appointed assistant dean for Student Affairs in the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions, as of February 2024. She is also the M. Patricia & James W. Leuschen Professor. She serves as the college’s representative on the UNMC Student Affairs Council and as liaison to the UNMC Office of Global Engagement. She continues to direct the college’s Office of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. She holds the rank of professor in the Master of Diagnostic Cytology Program, having joined UNMC in 2001 and served as the director of the cytology program for 20 years, before her assistant dean appointment.

Erie, Colo., received the 2023 Quality Award of Excellence from Intermountain Health.  

Mike Moravec PT’04   
Scottsbluff, Neb., was recognized in March 2024, with the Nebraska Small Business Person of the Year Award by the Small Business Administration. Mike is the owner and founder of Bluffs Physical Therapy.

Omaha, Neb., received the honor of Viking of Distinction, in May 2024, from Omaha North High School.  

Rachelle Dye PA’06 
Clinton, Miss., was named chair of physician assistant studies for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Mississippi College. She previously served as director of preclinical education and is a seasoned clinical physician assistant.

Aurora, Colo., is a 2024 PhD graduate of the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. She obtained her master's degree in healthcare informatics in 2012 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, and is currently a lecturer there and an informatics RN at the Department of Veterans Affairs for the National Oncology Program. 
Kristine Benda N’07 
Scottsbluff, Neb., is a PhD candidate and in August 2024, was selected as a Jonas Scholar. She is one of 63 to be chosen from 25 states and is the only representative within Nebraska. She will be paired with a mentor to provide her with guidance to develop her as nursing faculty and will receive tuition assistance and be eligible for a future monetary award if she accepts a faculty position.

Pocatello, Id., was recently appointed as an Idaho State Dental Association Trustee, representing the Southeast Idaho Dental Society. He founded the Idaho Center for Oral and Facial Surgery and has been in private practice since completing his residency. He also maintains staff privileges at Portneuf Medical Center, where he serves as the maxillofacial trauma chair and is a perioperative patient care committee member.

Omaha, Neb., and her husband, Tony, welcomed a son, Walker Ray Distefano, on February 18, 2024. 

Douglas Renton, Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine ‘08 
Bismarck, N.D., joined Essential Health-Mid Dakota Bismarck 9th Street Clinic in July 2024.  

Megan Frazee PT’09
Omaha, Neb., received the 2024 Achievement in Education Award from the Nebraska Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. She also received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the UNMC College of Allied Health Professions. She serves as an assistant professor in the physical therapy program in the college. 

Stephanie Hartman M’09
Omaha, Neb., was recognized by the Nebraska Medical Association as a Physician Advocate of the Year in the fall of 2024. She is an assistant professor in the UNMC Division of General Internal Medicine.

Isuzu Meyer M’09 
Omaha, Neb., recently joined the Nebraska Medicine Olson Center for Women’s Health as a urogynecologist. 

Greg Schardt P'09
Papillion, Neb., was promoted to Director, Healthcare Market at Genentech, in the fall of 2024. He has been with the company for four years and in his new role, focuses on collaborating with health care providers around patient access to therapies and health equity.
