Maheswari (Manju) Mukherjee, PhD, MSc, BPT, SCT (ASCP)CM
Dr. Mukherjee is an Associate Professor and the Director of the Cytology Program in the College of Allied Health Professions at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She received her bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1998, and a master’s degree in Anatomy in 2004 in India. She received her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Cytotechnology in 2010 and a PhD in 2012 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Dr. Mukherjee developed an innovative online curriculum using virtual microscopy which played a significant role in the remarkable expansion of UNMC Cytology program to multiple satellite sites and thus becoming a leader in distance education in the United States. She was awarded the 2013 UNMC Alumni Association Early Career Achievement award, and the 2017 College of Allied Health Professions Innovative scholarship award.
Dr. Mukherjee is actively engaged in Interprofessional Education activities to promote the importance of teamwork among students in the College of Allied Health Professions. Her expertise as a team player proudly represents the UNMC cytology program in collaborative inter-disciplinary and multi-institutional grant submissions, national and international presentations, and manuscript publications.
