Tanya Custer, PhD, MS, RT(R)(T)ARRT
Dr. Custer’s passion lies in distance education, and she oversees three online programs at UNMC: the Master of Health Professions Teaching & Technology, the Master of Healthcare Delivery Science, and the Bachelor of Science in Medical Imaging and Therapeutic Sciences (BSMITS) Degree Advancement Option (DAO). She is also an active member of the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators and plays a significant role in organizations such as the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Association of Educators in Imaging & Radiologic Sciences, and the Nebraska Society of Radiologic Technologists.

Dr. Custer's research interests focus on educational research, with an emphasis on online learning and distance education in health professions education. She has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals, including Online Learning, Pedagogy in Health Promotion, The Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Science & Education, The Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences, and Radiologic Technology. Dr. Custer is also a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and serves on the editorial board of the Radiation Therapist Journal published by the ASRT.
