MITS Mission Statement
The medical imaging and therapy programs within the Department of Clinical, Diagnostic & Therapeutic Sciences are mission-driven to provide a premier educational environment that prepares competent entry-level professionals who demonstrate the highest quality of patient-centered care, safety, and service.
Goals
To uphold our Mission, the Radiation Therapy Program has the following goals:
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will position patients as directed in the treatment plan/record.
- Students will operate equipment to plan or deliver a prescribed therapeutic dose.
- Students will describe the relationship between normal tissue tolerance and tumor lethal dose.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will demonstrate effective written communication skills.
- Students will demonstrate effective oral communication skills.
Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will recognize setup discrepancies/ variations.
- Students will critique pretreatment images to evaluate patient positioning.
