Advanced Clinical Anatomy

The Physical Therapy Program is offering elective courses this Spring as part of our DPT curriculum, and we are excited to open the remaining available spots to clinicians who are interested.

Course Description

7.5 CE hours
One-day course for physical therapists to provide a comprehensive review of the anatomy of the lumbar spine, brachial plexus, and extremities. Faculty will demonstrate regional anatomy. Following, participants will explore structure on embalmed cadavers and discuss the anatomical and kinesiologic basis of normal and abnormal function in the context of rehabilitation. The course will conclude with a quiz.

Course Objectives

  • Identify lumbar spine, extremity, and brachial plexus structures
  • Identify origin, insertion and innervations for muscles of the shoulder, hip, and knee joints
  • Explain structural synergies (muscles, joints, etc.) for selected actions
  • Apply anatomy to physical therapy evaluation and intervention
