Timeline for Admissions
June
Application Opens. Online PTCAS application for admission opens. The University of Nebraska Medical Center DPT program participates in the Physical Therapist Centralized Application Service, known as PTCAS. Applicants must apply online using the PTCAS application. See application on the PTCAS website.
July
Suggested Application Start (if haven’t already). Suggested start of application to give applicant plenty of time to successfully complete by deadline.
August
Suggested Application Submission. Suggested submission of PTCAS application to insure adequate processing time and verification by PTCAS. Please be aware that it can take up to 5 weeks for PTCAS to complete the review and verification of your application. Students are encouraged to apply early.
September
Final Application Deadline. All required application materials, including transcripts, references and official GRE scores, must be received by PTCAS by the final application deadline in order to be considered as an applicant. Applicants are strongly encouraged to check their application status in PTCAS. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure all materials that must be submitted to PTCAS have been received.
Early – Mid October
Interview Notification. Applicants will be contacted by CAHP Enrollment Management & Student Affairs via email if invited for personal interviews. Interviews will be offered to a limited number of qualified applicants before acceptance is offered. Applicants with missing materials will be classified as ineligible. By November, all applicants will be notified as to whether they are or are not being offered a personal interview.
Mid – Late October
Interview Session. An interview with the Admissions Committee is required for admission, however, only the most qualified individuals will be invited to an interview based on assessment of the application and the application materials. Interviews consist of individual interviews with Admissions Committee members, situational interviews, time to speak with current students and a campus tour.
November
Admission Notification. Notification letters sent to all applicants via the email address provided in their application. Enrollment is limited; consequently, not all candidates are accepted.
Mid-July (year of matriculation)
Entering students must have completed all required course work. Proof in the form of final, official transcripts must be submitted. The Division reserves the right to withdraw the offer for admission if these courses are not completed by the July 15 deadline. If more time is needed, permission must be received from CAHP Enrollment Management & Student Affairs.
August
University, College & Program Orientation events held the week before classes.
