Application Opens. Applications open in OTCAS mid-July. The University of Nebraska Medical Center OT program participates in the Occupational Therapist Centralized Application Service, known as OTCAS. Applicants must apply online using the OTCAS application. See application on the OTCAS website. Please be aware that it can take up to 5 weeks for OTCAS to complete the review and verification of your application.
October
Priority Application Deadline. The application must be submitted and all required application materials (ex: transcripts & references) must be received at OTCAS by the UNMC OT Program deadline in order to be considered as an applicant for the priority application deadline. Applicants are strongly encouraged to check their application status in OTCAS. It is the responsibility of the applicant to insure all materials that must be submitted have been received.
Late October
Interview Notifications for Priority Application Deadline. Applications are reviewed and it is determined which applicants will be invited for personal interviews. Applicants with missing materials will be classified as ineligible. By early November, all applicants will be contacted by CAHP Enrollment Management & Student Affairs if they have been selected for an interview. Notifications will come via the email address provided in the prospective student’s application.
November
Interview Sessions for Priority Application Deadline. The UNMC OT Program interviews will be both face to face and virtual, asynchronous using the Kira Talent platform (What to Expect). The in-person interviews will be offered to those selected and will allow applicants to interact with and get to know the UNMC OT Faculty and some current students.
December
Admission Notification for Priority Application Deadline. Electronic notification letters sent to all interviewed applicants via the email address provided in their OTCAS application.
January
January Application Deadline. January application deadline to submit OTCAS application and for all application materials (ex: transcripts & references) to be received at OTCAS. Applicants who submit after the priority application deadline, but before the January application deadline will be considered if spots are still available.
February
Interview Notifications & Sessions for January Application Deadline. Will follow the same interview process as Priority Application Deadline. See above for details.
March
Admission Notification for January Application Deadline. Electronic notification letters sent to all interviewed applicants via the email address provided in their OTCAS application.
May
Final Application Deadline. Final application deadline to submit OTCAS application and for all application materials (ex: transcripts & references) to be received at OTCAS. Applicants who submit after the January application deadline, but before the final application deadline will be considered if spots are still available.
June
Interview Notifications & Sessions for Final Application Deadline. Will follow the same interview process as Priority Application Deadline. See above for details.
July
Admission Notification for Final Application Deadline. Electronic notification letters sent to all interviewed applicants via the email address provided in their OTCAS application.
Mid-July
Entering students must have completed all required course work. If more time is needed, permission must be received from CAHP Enrollment Management & Student Affairs.
Mid-August
University, College & Program Orientation events held the week before classes.
