Admission Requirements

Enrollment in each program is limited and competitive. The admissions committee of each program, composed of program faculty and administration, evaluates the qualifications of each applicant and makes the final selections for admission.

Academic Criteria

• A bachelor’s degree (in any major, but must be well rounded in the biological sciences, chemistry and mathematics)
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (A=4.0) is required at time of application submission.
• A minimum prerequisite GPA of 3.0 (A=4.0) is required at time of application submission.
• Completion of prerequisite courses (listed below)
• Courses used for required prerequisites must be a letter grade of “C-” or above. [Exceptions to this policy due to COVID-19]
• Any repeated course grades will be considered if improvement was achieved.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

As of July 2021, UNMC will no longer require or utilize scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for admission to the Clinical Perfusion program.

Conversation Time

Three (3) unique conversations with a Perfusionist are required. Three separate Conversation Confirmation Forms reflecting these experiences must be uploaded into the online application by the application deadline.
