How to Apply for Financial Aid
Congratulations on your acceptance to UNMC!
To be considered for financial aid and scholarships at UNMC, you must complete the:
1. UNMC Scholarship Application. You will need your UNMC ID and password to log into PeopleSoft to complete the on-line application.
This application serves as your Scholarship Application for the entire length of your UNMC program. The Office of Financial Aid does not award 'renewable' scholarships. Scholarship eligibility is determined each year based on your prior year academic performance, leadership skills, and donor specific criteria (i.e., senior nursing student). If a UNMC Scholarship Application is not on file, your name will be included on scholarship rosters, however, your program may not consider you for scholarship without an application being on file. Additionally, the UNMC Scholarship Application collects donor specific criteria that is not collected on other application materials.
2. FAFSA - UNMC Title IV Code is 006895 within 30 days of your acceptance to UNMC. Your Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 financial aid will be based on 2013/2014 FAFSA data.
Due to the Accelerated Nursing Program curriculum and structure, you are required to submit the 2013/2014 FAFSA for the Summer 2014 semester. Also, the Accelerated Nursing Program is an UNDERGRADUATE program. Do not submit your FAFSA as a Graduate/Professional, as it cannot be processed as such.
All communications from UNMC Student Services will be sent to your preferred email account. To avoid any delays in communication, the offices of Financial Aid, Academic Records, and Student Accounts will send all communications to your unmc.edu address. It is your responsibility to review this unmc.edu account for important information. Your academic program will provide you with your unmc.edu account in accordance with their business practices. If you do not receive an e-mail account in a reasonable amount of time, please contact your academic program to determine their business practice for providing you a UNMC email account (Outlook).
If you have questions regarding the completion of the UNMC Scholarship Application and/or the FAFSA, please contact Crystal Quarterio.
