The overall objective of this study is to develop, implement and evaluate a novel point-source hearing protection strategy to increase the use of hearing protection. This randomized controlled trial will test the effectiveness of this highly participatory intervention.

 Pilot Project: Effects of Sleep Deprivation on Balance, Stress and Recovery among Farmers

The objective of this study is to determine how sleep deprivation affects balance, stress and recovery in farmers. It is critical to demonstrate how seasonal fluctuation of work, sleep and rest hours correlate with physical and physiological performance, so that effective interventions to prevent injuries in agriculture can be developed.


Pilot Project: Imminent Hazards in English and Spanish

This project is designed to close a growing communication gap between English-speaking and Spanish-speaking employees working at the same farm location. This gap will be addressed through practitioner research, which will lead to the development of bilingual hazard awareness pictograms that can be easily modified and used at farm operations.
