BSIT/MPH (Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Innovation/Master of Public Health)

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Innovation and MPH in Biostatistics (BSIT/MPH) dual degree is a collaborative program between the University of Nebraska Omaha, College of Information Science and Technology and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Public Health.

This program is designed to provide students the opportunity to complete an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology (IT) Innovation and the MPH in Biostatistics in a 4 + 1 format.  The BSIT/MPH program is designed for dedicated undergraduate students who are motivated and willing to take on the challenges and opportunities related to graduate education.  The BSIT/MPH will provide state-of-the-art training in the area of information technology and biostatistics. The training will focus on information technology innovation, tools typically used to analyze different types of public health data, and provide opportunity to apply biostatistical methods to real-world problems.

The program of study is guided by the curriculum standards established by the UNO BITI and the UNMC MPH Program (accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health). It is designed as a 151 credit hour undergraduate/professional option that allows eligible students to work toward the Biostatistics concentration in the MPH program requirements while completing their undergraduate degree.  Students interested in this option will work closely with their advisor to develop an integrated plan of study.
