Human Resources Fall 2011 Learn@Lunch Series A Focus on
Excellance: Achieving Peak Performance through Efficiency
UNMC Human Resources will launch its fall sessions for the
Learn@Lunch Series on September 29th, with "Effective Time
Management", from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m at Sorrell Center, Room
2018. The speaker for this session will be Lori Smith, President,
Capstone Coaching and Consulting, Inc. How would you rate your time
management skills? Organize and manage your work environment
effectively by setting goals, establishing priorities and
timeframes, breaking through indecision and recognizing
time-wasters. Ms. Smith will discuss how to develop a plan to
increase workplace efficiency and gain greater control of your time.
She will provide tools to successfully deal with self distractions
and interruptions and create productive and efficient routines to
obtain workplace goals.
The next session will be on October 25th, with "Efficient and
Effective Communication", from 11:30a.m. - 12:30p.m. at Sorrell
Center, Room 2018. How do you make sure your message is heard? SHOUT
it out, right? Not necessarily. In today's communication world,
there are so many channels to send your message efficiently and
effectively. You have to focus on what is the most effective channel
to use and how to manage that message. In this session, Ms. Galloway
will share tools that will help you be an efficient and effective
communicator via email, phone and personal interactions.
The last session will be on November 15th, with "Focusing on Peak
Performance", from 11:30a.m.-12:30p.m. at Sorrell Center, Room 2018.
The speaker for this session will be Todd Conkright, President,
Cornerstone Global Training and Performance Solutions. How you think
about your circumstances creates your reality. Change your mindset
and you will begin to shed light on those things that have prevented
you from making positive progress. Mr. Conkright will discuss how to
identify common mindsets that create barriers to peak performance
and useful mindsets that open up possibilities. Mr. Conkright will
provide tools to identify opportunities, rather than problems.
