Close Encounters of the Best Kind

Do you enjoy people? Seek diverse clinical experiences? Desire to learn in a community-based, family-oriented environment? Choose to use modern technology in a “real-world” setting that offers you high-tech tempered with high touch?

It is that special kind of person that we seek as a resident for the Rural Health Education component of the UNMC/Kearney Rural Family Practice Training Track. Through this innovative approach, you will find a balanced and flexible program meant to meet the needs of tomorrow’s family practitioners. This unique family practice residency program will let you develop your skills in both outpatient and inpatient settings. With our two-stage program, you will be prepared to provide quality health care to families in any setting…rural, suburban as well as urban. During the first year of your residency, you will train in an environment found only in a large teaching hospital. Then, during the second and third years, you will focus on the delivery of family health care in a smaller, community-based hospital with physician practices located in Kearney and other central Nebraska communities.
