Department of Oral Biology
Welcome to the Department of Oral Biology located in the lower level of the UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln, NE. The department faculty conduct basic and translational research, direct the oral radiology and oral medicine clinics, and provide didactic instruction in the general and oral components of the basic biomedical sciences, practice management, behavioral sciences, public health, and radiology for the dental hygiene, dental and postgraduate dental specialty programs offered by the college.
Department faculty also direct many of the service-learning activities available to College of Dentistry students. In addition, the department participates in the MSIA Graduate Program leading to both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. The Biomonitoring Service offered to dental offices in the state is housed in the department. The Nebraska Center for Cellular Signaling, a nationally recognized research center, is administratively part of the Department of Oral Biology.
