Undergraduate students interested in health care careers can participate in several summer programs.
The Summer Medical and Dental Education Program is a nationwide, six-week program for freshman and sophomore students interested in a career in medicine or dentistry. UNMC’s program is one of 12 sites in the U.S. It also offers community service activities designed to improve the health of underserved individuals in Omaha.
The M.D./Ph.D. Summer Undergraduate Research Program is an opportunity for students who are interested in patient care and research. Students in this program explore physician-scientist career tracks and gain valuable lab experience.
High school students can participate in the unique UNMC High School Alliance program. Juniors and seniors take college-level classes and get a head start on their health care career.
