About Us

Surrounded by beauty and innovative settings, our cancer center creates an unprecedented approach to treating patients and discovering breakthroughs in our decades-long fight against cancer.

Created through a partnership between UNMC and Nebraska Medicine and supported through the generosity of our many donors, the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is an intentional space for researchers, clinicians and patients.

Our $323 million state-of-the-art cancer research and clinical care facility opened in 2017 and includes the Suzanne and Walter Scott Research Tower and the C.L. Werner Cancer Hospital. The building also includes a multidisciplinary outpatient cancer clinic, radiation and infusion treatment centers. The facility is the largest public-private partnership in the history of Nebraska.

Mission

The mission of the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, formerly known as the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center, is to understand, prevent and cure cancer in Nebraska through premier educational programs, innovative research, the highest quality patient care, and outreach to underserved populations.

Vision

The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center will position itself as one of the premier cancer centers in the United States.

Leadership

Our leaders are working to make a difference for cancer patients everywhere.

Healing Arts

The arts are woven into our cancer center environment through the Chihuly Sanctuary, Leslie's Healing Garden, art exhibits and a permanent collection, creating moments of healing rest and calm to health care providers, researchers and patients.
